Minimum list price

KDP computes the floor from the arithmetic of your own book: whatever price makes the royalty exactly zero, rounded up to a sellable figure. Because printing cost grows with page count, a longer book has a higher floor.

This is the constraint that most often forces a rethink on long or colour books. A 700-page colour interior can carry a floor high enough that the book is priced out of its own category, and the fix is usually structural — split the book, reduce the trim, or move to black ink — rather than a pricing tweak.

Expanded Distribution has its own, higher floor, because the royalty rate on that channel is lower. A price that works for Amazon-only sales may be below the floor once expanded distribution is enabled.
