List price

You set a list price per marketplace, not one global price. KDP can derive the others from your primary marketplace automatically, but the derived figures are conversions rather than considered decisions, and they are worth reviewing — a price that reads as reasonable in dollars can sit at an odd number in yen.

The floor is set by your printing cost: KDP will not let you price a book so low that a sale would lose money. The ceiling is a published maximum per marketplace. Between them, the royalty threshold creates a step in your earnings rather than a smooth curve.

Amazon may discount the book below your list price. Your royalty is calculated from the list price you set, not from the discounted price, so a promotional discount does not reduce what you earn.
