Reading the JPY figures

KDP's tables are published per currency zone and are not conversions of one another — the JPY figures are set independently, so a book that is comfortably profitable on one marketplace can be marginal on another at the equivalent price.

The shape of the model is the same everywhere: a flat charge for short books, then a lower fixed charge plus a per-page amount once you cross the band threshold. What changes between marketplaces is the size of those numbers and where the royalty rate steps up.
