8 × 10 inches is the classic image-forward trim. It is close enough to standard photographic proportions that pictures sized for 8 × 10 prints drop in with minimal cropping.
If your interior is image-heavy you will almost certainly be printing in colour, and colour printing costs substantially more per page than black ink. That, rather than the trim itself, is usually what determines whether an image-led book is viable — check the cost at your real page count and ink type before designing around a page budget you cannot afford.
