No three identical digits may sit together in a row or column, every row and every column holds four 0s and four 1s, and no two rows or two columns may match. How to play

  1. Copy the three rules from the header: no three identical symbols in a line, equal counts of 0 and 1 in every row and column, and all rows and columns unique.
  2. Start from the givens — two matching digits in a row force the next cell the other way, and a pair of 0s already in a row of eight leaves room for exactly two more 0s.
  3. Fill remaining cells with 0 or 1 until the grid is full.
  4. Before you finish, scan for duplicate rows or columns and break any match with the remaining empty cells.

Print at 100% scale on letter or A4 so each 8x8 cell is large enough for a 0 or 1.
